Mark TougiasMark Tougias paints soft yet realistic landscapes of scenes he has personally viewed and enjoyed. While much of his subject matter is drawn from beautiful settings throughout Northern Vermont, he has also traveled and painted extensively in Europe.
Mark says his work has been heavily influenced by the French Barbizon painters, American Tonalists, the Impressionist Movement, and various American Regional Schools of the early to mid- Twentieth Century. He adds that his interest in the landscape is also a vehicle for exploration of light, tonal qualities, and abstract form.
He continues to exhibit widely throughout the northeastern United States, and his works are owned in corporate and private collections in the US, Canada, and Europe. |
