Dale RatcliffDale Ratcliff is from Gloucester, Massachusetts; she travels frequently to Vermont and Maine to paint the unique landscapes and seascapes of these special places. A "plein air" painter, Ratcliff's work captures her subject in bold, brushy strokes as she seeks always to catch the fleeting effects of light. Her bold use of vivid color and changing light is carefully tuned to the feeling and mood appropriate for each artwork that she creates.In describing her work, she says: "A painting should afford an ongoing display of the artist's feeling for a particular scene. I try with all subject matter to covey my emotions at the moment of seeing." Dale Ratcliff is a member of many art organizations including the Rockport Art Association and the Hudson River Art Association. A highly acclaimed, award-winning artist, she is a frequent instructor and judge for art groups and shows. Her artwork is found in public and private collections worldwide. |
