Carolyn Droge

From her early childhood, Carolyn Droge has loved animals and made
them the subjects of her artwork. During her fifteen years working for a veterinarian, she was exposed to numerous subjects for her animal portraits; she also earned notoriety as an accomplished wildlife artist. Her painting ability was further developed during her painting restoration work with an art conservator. This extensive and meticulous work honed her style as a uniquely realistic oil painter, and she soon earned recognition as an accomplished wildlife artist.

In Vermont she finds endless animal subjects, as evidenced by the body of her work. She takes particular delight, however, in painting cows. Her ability to depict each animal’s individuality lends intimacy to her portraits. “Each painting begins with a study of the subject’s eyes,” she says. “I believe the eyes capture the true personality of the animal.”

Carolyn Droge has a realistic style that captures the very essence of each of her animal subjects, causing the viewer to feel as though a personal relationship has been nurtured and developed!
