Diane BrunsDiane Bruns is a working artist who uses her many artistic talents to create artworks in a variety of different media and styles. She enjoys working in soft pastel as well as oil and acrylics. Her subjects range from abstract to realistic. She says the subject matter she seeks to depict dictates the choice of medium. As a retired art educator she constantly seeks to learn and grow “by exploring both intuitive and rational approaches in my creative process. I will feel successful if the viewer finds connection and perhaps a bit of spirituality in my work.”Using her photographic toolbox to capture the beautiful countryside of Vermont, she says:“My own photos lay the groundwork for more representational works. The abstract work is more playful and I enjoy building a surface to develop texture and patina stemming from graduate work in metals.” As a working artist and retired art educator, I want to continue to learn and grow. By exploring both intuitive and rational approaches in my creative process, I will feel successful if the viewer finds connection and perhaps a bit of spirituality through my art. |
